Cloth that hangs full length and traverses rather than rolling up. Ready-made drapery comes in three lengths and your ceiling is not one of them, so everything here is cut to the window and hung by the crew that measured it. Most of it goes over a shade rather than instead of one.

The difference is whether you want fabric that stacks at the sides and stays there, or fabric that closes across the glass and still lets light through.
Curtains and drapery, for the look
Sewn panels on a rod or a ceiling track, hung high and wide so the window reads taller and the panels sit on the wall when they are open. Because the shade underneath is doing the light control, the fabric can be chosen on how it hangs.
Dream Curtain, for the wall of glass
Vertical sheer panels that traverse like drapery but control light like a layered shade. It is what we put on a patio door when full-height drapery would be too heavy and a shade would look like an office.
Almost always, both and a shade
The pairing we install most is a functional shade at the glass with panels either side of it. That is the arrangement that makes a room look finished, and it is cheaper than asking one expensive treatment to do two jobs.
