The fabric decides everything
The hardware is the same across the range. What changes the room is the weave: a 5% solar cloth reads almost like tinted glass and keeps the trees visible, while a blackout is an opaque panel that turns a bedroom into a bedroom at any hour. We bring both to the kitchen table so you see them against your own light, not under showroom LEDs.
Where the light gets in
An inside-mount roller leaves about an eighth of an inch of clearance on each side — that gap is where the light comes through, and no roller of any brand avoids it. If the room has to be dark, we mount outside the opening with a two-inch overlap. We say which one we would do at the estimate, before it is on paper.

What people ask about roller shades.
Yes, with a blackout fabric on an outside mount. Inside-mount blackout still lets a thin outline of light around the edge; over the opening with an overlap, the room goes properly dark. We have done a lot of nurseries this way.
We run a single roller to 120" wide. Past about 96" we move to a heavier tube so the fabric stays flat across the span, and on very wide openings we will usually recommend two shades on one headrail instead of one long one.
On anything above a stair landing, behind furniture, or in a bank of four or more windows you want to move together, yes. On a single bedroom window, cordless does the job and costs less. We will tell you which one we would put in our own house.
