One-inch aluminium slats on a slim headrail. It is the least expensive thing we install and the one that all but disappears into the opening, because raised it stacks into a few inches at the top of the glass. Utility rooms, bathrooms, rentals, and any window where the window is not the point.

The smallest stack in the range
Raised, a 1" aluminium blind is a few inches of slats and a headrail, which is less than anything else here leaves across the top of the glass. That matters on a shallow frame with no depth to hide a cassette, on a basement window you want fully clear, and under a drapery panel where the blind is doing the work and the fabric is doing the looking.
What you give up for the price
A thin aluminium slat will kink if somebody grabs a handful of them to look out, and once kinked it stays kinked. That is the honest trade, and it is why we put this line where the traffic is low rather than in a front room. Slats are replaceable, and we would rather tell you that now than after the first bend.

What people ask about aluminum blinds.
Yes — the slats and the headrail do not care about moisture, and they wipe down with a damp cloth. It is the cheapest honest answer for a bathroom window, and in a windowed shower surround it is the only one of our lines we would fit at all.
Different, not better. A 1" slat stacks tighter and reads as less hardware, which suits a small window. A 2" slat puts fewer lines across the view and lets more light through when it is open, which suits a big one. On anything over about four feet wide we would show you both.
The mechanism outlasts the slats every time. Between tenants the usual job is replacing a handful of bent slats rather than the blind, which is a fraction of the cost of re-treating the window and is the reason landlords keep coming back to this line.
